It is made from a heavy, dense moulded material, most likely an early plastic or composition, rather than ceramic. There is no obvious mould seam visible.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eProbably dating from the early to mid 20th century, the figure has the appearance of the larger promotional Nipper models produced for record dealers and advertising displays. The exact maker and date are unknown, and there are no visible factory markings to the underside.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eNipper became one of the most recognisable images associated with recorded music following Francis Barraud's painting His Master's Voice, and figures such as this were widely used to promote gramophones, records and HMV products.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA particularly decorative piece of vintage music memorabilia and an excellent display object for a record collection, music room or eclectic interior.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eGood vintage condition with general surface wear, marks, rubbing and areas of discolouration consistent with age.
