French multi-line telephone switchboard made from black Bakelite, with 15 numbered white push buttons and a matching handset. Dating from the first half of the 20th century, it would have been used in a commercial or institutional setting to manage multiple phone lines manually.
The form is functional and minimal, with a slightly industrial character. The handset sits on a fixed cradle, and the original fabric-covered cables are still attached. The surface shows wear and marks consistent with age and use.
Sold as found, untested and intended as a decorative piece.
