An absolutely charming hand-painted porcelain wall mirror, richly modelled with scrolling Rococo-style flourishes, applied rose garlands, and four putti/cherubs (two seated at the crest, two at the lower sides). Marked to the rear with a crowned VNP 1817 and “Made in GDR / handpainted,” making it a lovely East German decorative piece with that romantic, ornate look that’s right on-trend for Castlecore / Grandmillennial Rococo Revival interiors.
It hangs vertically from the original-style chain and has a wooden backing board. Size: 63 x 24 cm (approx 24 13/16" x 9 7/16").
Condition notes: there’s visible age/wear to the wooden backboard and some old adhesive/residue around the rear edge by the fixing points (please see photos). The porcelain decoration shows typical light age wear.
