A striking matching set of three vintage original pastel drawings, each depicting a single rose against a deep black background.
The set comprises purple, coral-red and white roses, each delicately rendered with beautifully soft tonal modelling to the petals and restrained green foliage. The dramatic black grounds give the flowers an almost photographic intensity while retaining the softness and texture of hand-worked pastel.
Each artwork is individually signed vertically to the lower right, although the artist has not been identified. One retains an old Frosts for Furnishings retailer label to the reverse.
Presented in their original slim silver-coloured frames beneath glass. The restrained framing and bold graphic quality are particularly characteristic of mid-century interior decoration and the three work extremely well displayed together as a triptych.
