A striking vintage Art Deco wall mirror dating from around the 1930s, with a rectangular bevelled plate, softly rounded corners and elegant chrome-plated metal edging.
The mirror is finished with a geometric fan-shaped crest at the upper centre, giving it a particularly characteristic Art Deco appearance. Small metal retaining clips secure the plate around the edges, while the reverse has its original shaped wooden backing and an attached hanging chain.
The mirror plate has attractive age-related foxing, surface marks and some deterioration to the silvering around the edges. There are also small edge nibbles, general wear and areas of tarnishing and oxidation to the metal trim. The wooden backing has scratches, rubbing and marks consistent with age, but the mirror remains a very decorative and usable period piece.
Measures approximately 66 x 43 cm, or 26 x 16 7/8 inches.
