A handsome original c.1930s metal desk or bankers lamp with a wonderfully understated industrial Art Deco form. The lamp has a broad rectangular trough shade carried on an adjustable curved neck, together with a heavy circular stepped base and original toggle switch.
The dark bronzed finish has developed a lovely mellow patina, with surface wear and variation consistent with age. The pale interior of the shade helps reflect the light downward, making it a very practical reading, writing or desk lamp as well as a particularly decorative piece of period lighting.
The lamp has been rewired with brown braided fabric cable and fitted with a new modern UK three-pin plug. The original base-mounted toggle switch has been retained.
