A handsome antique Victorian edition of The Home Preacher, or Church in the House, edited by the Rev. Norman Macleod D.D., Dean of the Chapel Royal, and published by William Mackenzie of Glasgow, London and Edinburgh.

Beautifully bound in half leather with cloth-covered boards and gilt decorative detailing to the spine and corners, this substantial volume features an elaborate chromolithographic title page and an engraved portrait frontispiece. The richly decorative typography and quality Victorian book production make it an attractive display piece as well as an interesting devotional work.

A wonderful addition to a collection of antique books, ecclesiastical works or Victorian interiors, equally suited to use as a decorative coffee table or library book.

The binding remains solid with age-related rubbing, scuffs and wear to the leather and boards, together with expected foxing and age toning to some pages. Please refer to the photographs for the overall condition.
