An elegant late 19th-century tabletop dressing mirror in rich mahogany, the oval plate held within a molded frame on carved scroll uprights. The shaped plinth sits on bun feet and incorporates two recessed circular wells—each with a hinged wooden lid—for jewellery, cufflinks or hairpins. The mirror tilts smoothly for use and the backboard is intact. A lovely survivor with that warm, time-softened glow that suits “old money,” maximalist and cottagecore schemes alike.
Condition is authentically worn and decorative. The frame shows age cracks and small veneer lines at the arch; the base has surface wear, marks and old ring stains; lids and hinges are sound but timeworn; the period glass shows light foxing and age speckling that adds charm. Please see photos for close-ups—presents beautifully on a dressing chest, console or shop display.
