The circular wooden top is inset with a contrasting 64-square chess or draughts board and raised on a turned pedestal with a broad circular foot.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe top incorporates a traditional tilt mechanism, allowing the board to be raised vertically when not in use. \u003cbr\u003eA particularly attractive little piece of Victorian cabinetmaking, with lovely aged colour and patina. It works equally well as a collector's miniature, decorative object or display piece alongside antique chess sets and games.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThere is age-related surface wear throughout, including scratches, marks and some small areas of wear and loss to the inlaid playing surface, all visible in the photographs. The table remains solid and displays very well.
