A scarce late-Victorian cast-iron bicycle stand, cast to the base " DR ROBERTSON KIRKCALDY”. Designed for a shopfront or hallway, the heavy base sits on paw feet with twin upturned cradles that hold the front wheel. It wears its original old silver finish with timeworn oxidation—pure industrial, country-house utility and a brilliant prop or everyday stand.
Condition is solid and authentic with age-darkened silver paint, scattered rust speckling, small knocks and pitting to the casting, and a little play at one arm from years of service. No structural issues; sturdy and ready to place. If you intend daily use outdoors, a quick wax or clear coat will keep the patina stable.
