A handsome early 19th-century ten-volume set of David Hume’s monumental History of England, from the Invasion of Julius Cæsar to the Revolution in 1688. Printed and published in London by C. Corrall, Charing Cross, in 1809–1810, this set represents one of the most influential historical works of the Enlightenment, admired for its elegant prose and its philosophical approach to the English past.

This particular set is complete in ten volumes, covering the full span of English history from antiquity to the late Stuart period. Bound in period full leather with gilt tooling and banded spines, the volumes measure approximately 6.5 inches tall (16.5 cm) by 4 inches wide (10 cm), making them a finely proportioned library edition.

Condition: The bindings show age-related rubbing, scuffs, and wear at the extremities, with some cracking to hinges, but they remain sound overall. The interiors are clean, with light toning appropriate to age.
