Handsome early–mid 19th century mahogany chest of drawers with real presence and that rich “brown furniture” glow that’s firmly back in fashion. The front is beautifully veneered with quartered flame mahogany and striking oval and circular inlaid panels to the top drawers, framed by turned column sides and a carved scroll apron. It offers three full-width lower drawers below a row of three shorter drawers, so plenty of storage for a bedroom, hallway or living room. Overall size is approx. 122 cm tall x 130 cm wide x 60cm deep, a brilliant statement piece for old money, grandmillennial or maximalist interiors.

The chest is solid and usable but very much an honest antique with wear, perfect if you like character or plan a light restoration. There are losses and chipping to the veneer along the front and side edges of the top, small patches and filled areas in places, surface scratches and marks to the top, age-related splits, knocks to corners and edges, and general scuffs all over. The drawers run but show the usual signs of age inside; locks are present but there are no keys. The original brass knobs have aged nicely and the colour of the timber is gorgeous, especially when the light hits the grain. Structurally sound and ready to use as-is for that relaxed country house look, or to take further if you want a project.
