A lovely pair of carved figurines from Bali and dating from the first half of the last century. The figure on the left may represent Barong, Baron, king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali. Im unsure who the other figure represents. The bases are modern, in good vintage condition but there are small pieces missing from each of the figures swords.
