A compact, beautifully balanced brass censer with three peg feet, mask ring handles and crisp hand-engraved decoration of phoenix among clouds and peonies. The shallow bowl and wide everted rim make it a perfect little altar or console accent; the interior shows old incense residue, exactly what you want to see on a working burner.
Bright polished exterior with darker ground in the cuts gives great contrast; the underside carries additional engraved borders around the feet. Height just under 8 cm (about 3⅛"). Presents as a small jewel of a piece for Japandi or maximalist vignettes alike.
Condition: good vintage condition with light surface marks, tiny rubs to high points, interior oxidation from past use; stands true and rings are secure.
