A beautiful highland landscape painting by British painter Frank Hider (1861-1933). Previously sold at Sothebys in 1985. The painting is in excellent condition with no damage.

Frank Hider was a British landscape painter known for extensive coastal views and far-reaching river landscapes. He was born in London and travelled extensively around the British Isles. Two of his eight children, Mabel and Christopher, also became painters and their works are often misattributed to their father. Mabel likely signed her paintings M.C. Hider.
Frank Hider is represented in several public collections and one of his works, ‘Moonlit Street Scene’ is with the National Trust at Rufford Old Hall.
