A large and intricately carved figure of a recumbent water buffalo with two boys on top it. Made from a dense tropical hardwood, the detail is amazing, the figures and the buffalo both having glass eyes and bone teeth. A bit of the lower teeth of the buffalo is missing and there is a split in the wood but these defects detract from the overall appearance.

Dating from the early 20th century

27cm / 10.5" long
