A characterful arch-top mantel clock, c.1900–1930, with stained mahogany finish, gilt pillars and two circular windows: the upper showing a paper dial with Roman numerals and Kanji characters, the lower with a reverse-painted winter landscape tablet. Inside is an eight-day, spring-driven pendulum movement striking on a coil gong. In good working order.

Honest age throughout: case scuffs and chips, dial toning, small paint losses to the tablet, and general surface wear that suits the piece. At 44 cm tall it has great presence on a hearth or library shelf and leans perfectly into old-money and maximalist styling.
