Crisp carved cinnabar lacquer over a metal body, the sides worked in deep relief with prunus and peony amid scrolling foliage on a fine diaper ground, all edged with a brass rim and finished inside with a vivid cobalt-blue enamel. The underside shows a radiating lappet band around a recessed blue-enamel foot. Decorative, tactile, and very stylish for a console, coffee table, or chinoiserie vignette.

Condition is good vintage with honest signs of age: a few tiny nicks to the high points of the carving, slight rubbing to the rim, and light marks to the enamel—nothing structural and it displays beautifully. Diameter reads directly off the tape at approximately 17 cm; height about 6 cm.
