Designed in the form of a streamlined rocket, this striking piece embodies the futuristic Machine Age aesthetic of the interwar period, when advances in aviation and engineering inspired some of the most distinctive designs of the Art Deco movement.
Constructed from chrome-plated metal, the rocket features a rounded nose cone, streamlined cylindrical body and three stabilising fins at its base. The ingenious design conceals a collection of cocktail-making accessories, including three metal drinking cups, a spirit flask, strainer and additional fittings, all of which nest neatly inside the body for compact storage.
The fastening is stamped D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster), a German registered design designation, together with Made in Germany.
A wonderful example of early 20th-century novelty barware, combining elegant industrial styling with clever practical engineering. An exceptional decorative object for a home bar, Art Deco interior or collection of vintage cocktail equipment.
In great vintage condition overall but with some loss of chrome plating to the internal spirit flask, as photographed. All pictured components fit neatly inside the rocket.
