An attractive original Art Deco mantel clock dating to around the 1930s, housed in a clean architectural oak case with a softly arched top and contrasting dark moulded detail along the base.
The silvered circular dial has elegant stylised Arabic numerals and pierced black hands, with two winding points for the mechanical movement. The restrained case design, metal feet and geometric dial give the clock a particularly nice understated Art Deco character.
The rear door opens to reveal the original mechanical movement, pendulum and coiled gong. The clock is in good working order, with the movement running as it should. The striking mechanism sounds on the gong.
The case has general age-related wear, including small scratches, marks, rubbing and minor discolouration to the timber. There is some age-related marking and patination to the dial and metalwork, all consistent with its age. Please see photographs for condition.
