A lovely antique wooden pencil case or artist’s box with a warm, timeworn patina and a quietly personal history. The inside of the lid is inscribed in hand, reading “Annie Tardon Queens College,” giving this piece a strong sense of provenance—likely once belonging to a student and used for drawing tools, pens, or study materials.

The interior is neatly divided into five compartments, ideal for organising pencils, nibs, brushes, or small creative tools. It’s a format that works just as well today for artists, writers, or as a distinctive desk organiser. Pieces like this fit perfectly into current old money, academia, and dark cottagecore aesthetics—objects that feel lived-in, intellectual, and quietly storied.

Condition is good antique, with visible wear throughout: surface marks, small knocks, and age-related patina to the wood, along with some fading to the handwritten inscription. The hinges are intact and the lid opens and closes well. All wear is consistent with age and adds to the character rather than detracts.

Measures approximately 18 x 14 x 6 cm (7.1" x 5.5" x 2.4").

A great piece for anyone drawn to academic interiors, vintage creative tools, or objects with a subtle personal narrative.

Measures 20 x 22.5 x 6 cm (approximately 7.9 x 8.9 x 2.4 inches).

A characterful and highly decorative antique with both practical use and strong visual appeal.
