This vintage wooden framed steamer trunk could tell some stories. A good example with original metalware, working lock and key and a lovely amount wear.
The trunk belonged to a Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD) nurse, James Wallace Cameron, who worked at Trouville hospital looking after casualties of the battle of the Somme in 1818 and 1819.
Useful decorative storage that could also be used as a quirky coffee table.
82 x 42 x 32cm

Voluntary Aid Detachments (VADs), formed by the British Red Cross and St. John Ambulance in 1909, were non-military civilian units that provided crucial nursing and support services to military personnel, particularly during World War I and II.
