An excellent Victorian oil painting of the Reverend Ivie M Machlachan of Uddingston, Scotland. Painted 1881 on canvas and in a gold gilded wood and gesso frame.
Would make a great addition to a "dark acaedemia" inspired space! Would also suit ecclectic / maximalist tastes. The quality of the painting is very good. The gilt frame has some chips etc. and there are some small chips in the painting itself but i think that this adds to its charm and it still looks great. The top of the plate is also cracked and bent out of shape.
