A charming antique colour print depicting an elegant young woman, believed to date to the Victorian period, with a wonderfully soft, almost dreamlike quality.

The sitter is shown wearing a delicate white dress adorned with a beaded necklace and dark brooch, her hair arranged in an elaborate fashion with tightly curled ringlets framing her face. Her striking blue eyes, pale complexion and gentle expression are beautifully complemented by the subtle landscape background.

The image appears to be an early colour lithograph, possibly reproducing an earlier Regency-period portrait. Particularly interesting is the unusual blue tint to the flesh tones and the soft, slightly blurred quality of the printing, giving the portrait an atmospheric appearance.

Presented behind glass in an attractive antique gilt wooden frame with a broad moulded border and warm, aged finish.

The print displays age-related toning, scattered spotting, fading and some discolouration. The frame retains an attractive aged patina, with fine cracking, small chips, rubbing and areas of wear to the gilded finish. The reverse has old backing materials and evidence of previous framing work.
