A beautifully presented late Victorian Child’s Bible, published by Cassell Petter & Galpin, London, Paris & New York. This is a richly illustrated edition, arranged as a narrative of Holy Scripture and designed for younger readers, complete with engraved plates throughout.

The binding is particularly appealing, with an embossed brown cover featuring a central oval title panel and decorative border. The book retains its original brass clasp fittings along the fore edge, giving it that classic Victorian gift-book presence—both functional and highly decorative.

Inside, the title page confirms the publisher and format, with “The Child’s Bible” arranged as a consecutive narrative of scripture in the authorised version, accompanied by numerous illustrations

Condition is good for age. The binding shows general wear, rubbing, and age-related marks, with some patina to the brass fittings. The pages display light foxing and toning as expected, but the book remains structurally sound and very presentable. The illustrations are clear and add strong visual appeal.
