A really well decorated and quite unusual example of a Sudanese dagger. Probably form the Mahdist period. The sheath is made from cow hide and brass, the handle the same. The blade has been engraved in a typical pattern and the leather is stamped in a similar pattern. There are brass rings to attach the knife to a belt.
