The copper has been constructed and joined by hand, with visible hammering, riveted details and a decorative zig-zag seam around the neck.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eMost unusually, the neck is stamped with the inscription “SOY DE ESTEBAN JYL MORENO 1886”, giving the piece a definite 19th-century date and suggesting Spanish origin. The inscription roughly translates as “I belong to Esteban Jyl Moreno”.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA particularly striking piece of antique utilitarian metalware, now highly decorative in its own right.
