A striking early-to-mid 20th-century Danish foam fire extinguisher, marked “Skumsprøjteren DANA” on the original instruction plaque.
The tall cylindrical body is constructed from copper and brass, with riveted bands, a domed shoulder, substantial top mechanism, carrying handle and an unusual zoomorphic outlet spout. The Danish operating instructions remain visible on the front, giving the piece plenty of historical and industrial character.
The metal has developed a rich, untouched brown patina, with tarnishing, oxidation, scratches, marks and areas of green surface discolouration around the fittings. It would make an impressive decorative object for a loft interior, restaurant, workshop, shop display or collection of vintage firefighting equipment.
The extinguisher is empty and not pressurised. It has not been tested or serviced and is offered strictly as a decorative collector’s item, not as functioning fire-safety equipment.
