The curved tambour front rolls upward to reveal a generous writing surface, while the twin pedestals provide substantial storage.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe desk is constructed in oak with attractive grain, panelled sides, dovetailed drawers, integrated wooden handles and a decorative brass lock plate. There are eight pedestal drawers together with a central frieze drawer, with some of the drawers retaining useful internal divisions.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe original fitted pigeonhole arrangement inside the roll top has been removed at some point, leaving an open and practical workspace. Evidence of the former fittings remains visible on the back panel. The desk has a wonderfully characterful, lightly weathered finish with marks, scratches, fading, uneven colouring and signs of old use throughout.
