A characterful small chest with shop-counter vibes, built in solid timber and wrapped in a crackled faux-leather paper with little ebonised knobs. Four drawers (two short over two long) slide well and are lined with old British magazine/newspaper pages—wonderful time-capsule details including programme listings. The back carries an old painted grid panel, likely from a previous display life. Ideal for jewellery, watch straps, art supplies or as a quirky haberdashery/apothecary accent on a console or desk.
Size approx. 41.5 cm wide x 19 cm deep x 33 cm high (16.3" x 7.5" x 13").
Condition is sound and decoratively worn: scuffs and nicks to edges, age cracks and abrasions to the faux-leather paper, marks and stains to the drawer liners, and general patina from shop use. All drawers run, the piece sits square, and it displays brilliantly with that dark-academia, old-money mood.
