A striking Antique obelisk-form thermometer crafted in richly inlaid wood, showcasing intricate geometric Tunbridge Ware mosaic work. The tapered column rises elegantly from a stepped base, with detailed parquetry panels featuring warm tones of walnut, maple, and darker contrasting woods arranged in classic repeating patterns.

The front is fitted with a traditional glass thermometer set into a cream scale, marked in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, with a polished metal bulb at the base. The piece has a refined, almost architectural presence—reminiscent of Grand Tour obelisks—making it as much a decorative object as a functional one.

Standing at approximately 20 cm (8 inches) tall, it is perfectly sized for a desk, shelf, or cabinet display. Condition is good, the inlay remains crisp and visually striking, and the thermometer works as it should.

This piece aligns beautifully with current “dark academia,” Victorian, and maximalist interiors—ideal for adding depth, texture, and a sense of curiosity to a space.
