This striking 19th-century flame mahogany chest of drawers is an absolute character piece, showcasing richly figured veneers, bold architectural lines, and impressive barley-twist front columns. The top drawer operates via a secret internal latch, which is accessed by opening the second drawer.
The chest shows visible age-related wear, including losses and chips to the veneer at the top front corners and some abrasions around the drawer surrounds (all shown clearly in the photographs). It is structurally solid, the drawers run well for its age, and the piece has a deep, glowing patina throughout. The original key is missing.
A superb statement storage piece with a dramatic, aristocratic profile — ideal for castlecore, antique-layered interiors, and moody heritage-inspired spaces.
Measurements are 129cm wide x 60cm deep x 120cm high (50.8" x 23.6" x 47.2").
