An atmospheric antique Egyptian Revival bronze figure, depicting Osiris standing upright in traditional headdress and kilt, mounted on a stepped bronze base decorated with Egyptian motifs including a winged sun disc.

The figure is solid bronze with a wonderfully aged dark brown patina and lighter wear to the raised details. It was probably produced as a decorative Grand Tour or Egyptomania souvenir during the period of intense European interest in ancient Egyptian art and archaeology.

A particularly attractive example due to its slender proportions and architectural base, with considerably more presence than later lightweight tourist reproductions. There is general surface wear, oxidation and patination consistent with age, all of which adds to the character of the piece.
