A fine antique early 20th century Thai bronze Buddha, beautifully cast in the traditional Bhumisparsha Mudra (Earth Touching Gesture), representing the moment the Buddha called the Earth to witness his enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. The serene facial expression, elongated earlobes, finely detailed robes and neatly curled hair beneath the flame-shaped ushnisha reflect the elegant proportions of classical Thai Buddhist sculpture.

The figure is seated in meditation upon a lotus pedestal, symbolising purity and spiritual awakening. The bronze has developed a rich, warm patina over the past century, with gentle wear and surface variation that enhance its authenticity and character. The hollow-cast construction is typical of many devotional bronzes of the period, while the quality of the modelling gives the piece a refined and peaceful presence.
