A wonderfully unusual antique copper water vessel or kettle, probably dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The vessel has a removable lid with brass finial, a wrapped wooden carrying handle and an elaborate brass tap fitted with a white ceramic handle. The copper surface has developed a rich, warm patina, with dents, scratches, tarnishing and irregularities from age and use.

The tap and vessel have not been tested for holding or dispensing water, so it is offered primarily as a decorative collector’s piece. The wooden handle covering is worn and partially unravelled, contributing to its authentic aged appearance.

Measures approximately 17 cm / 6.7 inches tall.
