A handsome antique convex bullseye mirror dating to the early 20th century, featuring a deeply curved glass plate set within an elegant giltwood frame with ebonised inner slip. The frame is embellished with a series of applied ball decorations and finely moulded rope-twist borders, drawing inspiration from classic Regency and Georgian designs.

Convex mirrors were originally prized for their ability to reflect an entire room and increase available light, becoming a staple of grand country houses, libraries and entrance halls.
