A striking antique lidded box from Burma, made from repoussé metal with ornate animal and floral detailing in deep relief. This cylindrical piece features alternating panels of stylized creatures including deer, elephants, lions, and mythical beasts, each surrounded by floral and lattice motifs in beautifully detailed bands. The lid is similarly adorned, with concentric rows of animals in raised medallions and a floral border.

The box measures approximately 5" (12.5 cm) in diameter and 3.5" (9 cm) in height. The interior is unlined and shows traces of age-related oxidation, adding to its authenticity and vintage charm.

Crafted in the early 20th century, this box may have been used as a betel nut container, ceremonial item, or trinket box. It has a lovely aged patina, with minor wear consistent with use and age.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with surface patina and minor tarnishing. Hinge and lid operate smoothly. No major dents or damage.
