A handsome late Victorian–Edwardian brass microscope in excellent display condition and, importantly, still working. The coarse and fine focus run smoothly, the mirror tilts freely and throws plenty of light, and the stage clips hold a slide as they should.
It comes in its original fitted wooden case with accessory tubes, brass caps and a selection of objectives/eyepieces as pictured, making it a complete-looking set with real presence for a study, library or shop vignette. Optics are clear enough for casual use with the expected light age speckling; this is an antique scientific instrument, not a modern lab scope. The brass shows a warm, even patina with small marks and wear from handling; the black enamel base has minor scuffs. Hinges and latch on the case function and the interior fittings hold the parts securely.
Approximate measurements: 31 cm high, 13 cm wide, 17 cm deep (12.2" x 5.1" x 6.7").
