A handsome early 20th-century adjustable desk or library lamp, dating to around the 1920s–30s. The lamp has a substantial circular brass base, elegant curved stem and an articulated knuckle joint allowing the upper arm and shade to be repositioned.
The original-looking black metal hooded shade gives it a particularly good industrial / institutional appearance, while the brass has been left with its naturally aged dark patina rather than being highly polished. A small toggle switch is fitted directly into the base.
The lamp has been rewired with fabric-covered flex and modern plug (plug adaptor supplied for US customers). It displays beautifully and would make an excellent working desk, reading or library lamp.

Good antique condition with surface wear, tarnishing, marks and patination throughout consistent with age and use. The aged finish is particularly attractive and has been retained.
