An excellent quality rug with deep red and blue hues created from natural dyes. Hand knotted from wool pile on a wool foundation. Dating from around the middle of the last century. The rug has some signs of ware including some fraying on one of the edges but has lots of life left in it.

Baluchi rugs are soft and flexible yet extremely resilient and have a real feeling of age and history behind them. They are sought after in the West due to their tribal appeal. Baluch rugs are limited in size due to their tribal origins, woven on horizontal looms the maximum length is normally around 2-2.5 metres.
