A good quality Turkish Konya rug with lovely muted pastel colours. Naturally dyed and knotted with wool on a wool foundation.
The rug shows some signs of ware but is generally in good condition and has lots of years of life left in it.
Approximately 60 years old.

In 1292, Marco Polo was the first to make mention of the Konya carpets in writing when he called them the most beautiful in the world. Konya carpets are named for the region in which they were made. Famed for their magnificent colours, they are the most sought after of the Turkish village rugs. They can be considered the Turkish equivalent of Caucasian Kazaks, no less sought after and far rarer.
