Measuring a compact 4'5" x 3'0", this vintage Afghan tribal rug packs a lot of drama into a small footprint. The hand-knotted wool pile has a deep magenta ground with a bold stepped central medallion, framed by jet black corners and intricate geometric borders in orange, white and soft pink. It still retains its original “Tribal Rugs Ltd” label to the back, a lovely detail that hints at its mid–late 20th century origin and quality. This is an ideal size for an entrance, beside a bed, in front of a sofa or layered in a maximalist living space, and the rich jewel tones sit perfectly with castlecore, boho and eclectic interiors.

In good vintage condition with an even pile and strong colours. There is light surface wear, the odd small age-related mark and a little fraying and unevenness to the fringes and edges, all consistent with a well-cared-for hand-made rug and shown in the photos.
