A very attractive vintage Caucasian hand-knotted wool rug from Azerbaijan, with a bold geometric design in soft blue, ivory, terracotta and dark brown.
The rug features a large central geometric medallion surrounded by stylised floral, hooked and angular motifs, enclosed by a strong repeating border. The design and construction are characteristic of traditional Caucasian weaving from Azerbaijan.
A particularly appealing colour palette, with the faded blue ground contrasting nicely against the warm terracotta and ivory detailing. The reverse shows the hand-knotted construction clearly.
Vintage condition with some expected age-related wear and variation, but overall it presents very well and remains a very decorative piece.

Measures approximately 135 × 77 cm / 53.1 × 30.3 in / 4'5" × 2'6".
