A handsome mid-20th-century Afghan Baluch (Baluchi) tribal rug from the Herat–Farah/Khorasan sphere, woven in soft wool with a prayer-panel layout: stepped mihrab, latch-hook and ram’s-horn motifs, and a Greek-key main border.
The palette is a deep madder red lifted by ivory and inky indigo—rich, graphic, and easy to style with “old money” and maximalist rooms. Pile is medium and velvety with light, even wear; ends show fringe loss and the usual nibbling with a couple of tiny spot repairs and minor selvedge rubs, all stable and ready to lay.
A classic, characterful Baluch with great room presence.
