A beautifully detailed Antique hand-knotted wool prayer rug featuring an intricate repeating geometric field framed by richly patterned borders in deep indigo, madder red, camel, ivory and soft taupe tones. The stylised mihrab prayer niche design and finely drawn repeating gul motifs give the piece a wonderfully balanced and rhythmic appearance.

Likely Afghan or Pakistani Bokhara-inspired weaving, mid to late 20th century, with a dense hand-knotted wool pile and finely detailed weave. The narrow prayer arch and orderly geometric layout contrast beautifully with the more expressive tribal border motifs, creating a rug that feels both traditional and highly decorative.
