A good example of a cast bronze Vajra from Tibet and dating from around the middle of the 19th century. Made using the lost wax casting method and then finished with engraving, the Vajra has a lovely rich patina from age. Supplied with arcrylic stand.
A vajra is used as a ritual object to symbolize both the properties of a diamond (indestructibility) and a thunderbolt (irresistible force); the Sanskrit word having both meanings.
