The scalloped lower edge is picked out in green, giving the shade a particularly pretty period appearance.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe glass has a gently fluted, tapering form and the decoration has the slightly naïve hand-painted character typical of domestic lighting from the period. It is suspended from a dark patinated metal gallery with decorative pierced detailing.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe electrical fittings have been updated with a modern bulb holder and approximately 80 cm \/ 31.5 inches of brown braided cable, allowing the original shade to be used while retaining an appropriate period appearance. As with any vintage hardwired light, installation should be carried out by a suitably competent person.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe shade presents very well with the expected minor signs of age and use.
